Originating from the Hän Gwich’in and Oglala Lakota tribes, supermodel Quannah ChasingHorse has already attended multiple met gala events and worked with various professionals such as Ralph Lauren by the age of 23.
From traditional Yidįįłtoo tattoos to the fashion collections she showcases on the runway, it is clear that ChasingHorse works tirelessly to represent her community. When looking at her social media pages, it is not just photoshoots and brands she has worked with. There are also multiple posts and links to magazines, campaigns, and books, all of which advocate for indigenous communities.
In one of her more recent posts ChasingHorse reiterates that she is “so grateful and so thankful for the kinship and the continuous support, never taken lightly or for granted the opportunity to grace a cover and speak on the important issues perpetrating harm in indigenous communities today”. It is a sentiment that she has always carried with her and visibly seen in all of her looks. Like the annual 2025 Met Gala, which allowed ChasingHorse to once again express her identity as an indigenous supermodel.
Specifically, she places special emphasis on the protection of the Alaskan rural region, the Hän Gwich’in homeland. Over the course of decades climate change as well as ambitious oil and gas producers have targeted the native community that still continues to reside there. Given that the Hän hunt their own food and hardly have access to commodities such as fresh groceries, it is crucial that the ecosystem remains stable.
When she was 17, ChasingHorse became part of the International Gwich’in Youth Council in order to fight back against oil drillers and those who attempt to sell the land. In fact, it is her activism that earned her recognition in the modeling industry. Calvin Klein’s “One Future” campaign, which seeks to promote inclusivity along with advocacy for a better America, found that ChasingHorse was the perfect profile they were looking for.
Since then, ChasingHorse has rapidly ascended into supermodel stardom, signing another contract with IMG Models, a distinguished modeling agency. At first, she was doubtful that she would be accepted, but her prominent brand collaborations now suggest otherwise.

In her latest endeavor, ChasingHorse has partnered up with Fin and Fur Films Productions to be featured as the narrator of a picturesque wildlife film titled “The American Southwest”. It is set to premiere on September 5th. The premise of the film? To showcase the diverse wildlife of the Colorado River region that is jeopardized by the declining water supply. Many of her supporters and film enthusiasts alike who have already seen the film at MountainFilm Festival call it a great watch.
